Police Release Photo of Vehicle of Interest in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Involving Bicyclist

SACRAMENTO —

Sacramento police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that may have been involved in a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist.

The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday near Fruitridge and Florin-Perkins roads.

The 26-year-old bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition at an area hospital.

Family identified the man as Donovan Hempstead, and said he was riding his bike home from work when he was hit.

Video surveillance captured a vehicle that was in the area at the time of the crash. The vehicle is described as a brown or tan truck with front-end damage. It is considered a vehicle of interest at this time.

The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the help identifying the vehicle shown in the photo. Anyone with information is asked to call (916) 808-3060.
