Investigators are saying a driver going the wrong way on I-5 late Tuesday night was the cause of a deadly accident near the Zamora exit.

Reports say a 29-year-old male driver in a '91 Honda Civic going at a high rate of speed was traveling north in the southbound lane. He crashed into a 30-year-old male driving a 2014 Ford F-150.

Each car only had one occupant; both drivers died.

Witnesses described the crash as an explosion.

It has not been revealed at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in this accident.
