Camino Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint; Suspect Arrested

CAMINO —

A Camino gas station was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect was identified as Aaron Donald Friesen, 22. He allegedly brandished a handgun while robbing Wine Country Station, authorities said.

After the robbery, Friesen fled the area. An alert witness was able to give deputies information about the suspect and the vehicle he drove off in.

Deputies found the suspect’s empty vehicle crashed at an intersection east of Placerville. Deputies determined the vehicle was stolen

After searching the area for Friesen, law enforcement found him in a Placerville Dollar Store parking lot. A handgun was found on Friesen when he was detained.

Friesen is a Carson City, Nevada, resident. A prior felony warrant was issued for Friesen’s arrest for domestic violence charges.
