West Sac PD Investigating Kidnapping, Crash

WEST SACRAMENTO --

Thursday morning, a kidnapping suspect led West Sacramento police on a chase before crashing at 5th and C Streets.

The incident happened just after 8 a.m.

Wednesday night a 21-year-old woman was reportedly kidnapped by her 29-year-old roommate and was taken away from her West Sacramento area apartment.

At some point in the night the victim was able to escape and returned back to the area with her boyfriend.

When officers were arriving to take the victim's statements Thursday morning, the suspect just so happened to be driving by and the chase began.

The suspect was apprehended after the crash.

He will be charged with false imprisonment, kidnapping and making terrorist threats.
