A flight bound for Seattle from Sacramento was diverted Monday evening because of an “intoxicated and disruptive” passenger.

Alaska Airlines Flight 800 left Sacramento shortly before 8 p.m.

An airline spokesperson said a passenger was intoxicated and became agitated when he was asked to calm down. The pilot decided to divert the plane to Portland, Oregon after the man locked himself in the bathroom.

Police ultimately took the man into custody, according to Alaska Airlines.

The flight finally arrived in Seattle an hour and 45 minutes late.

Mashable reported passengers were each given a $100 voucher for their troubles.
