A man was arrested in connection to a gruesome double homicide in Roseville last June where two victims were shot in the head and found burning in a man’s front yard.

Joshua Daniel Smith, 38, of Sacramento was booked into the Placer County Jail on Thursday. He was transported from the Sacramento County Jail where he’d been held on other charges since last July. A no-bail warrant for his arrest was issued by Placer County in February.

The two men that were killed were Jason Benson, 33, and Warren Galsote, 34, both of Sacramento.

Their bodies were found on June 25 on Annabelle Avenue in Roseville.

A homeowner saw a fire in front of his home that night, and when he tried to put it out, he discovered two men had been lit on fire. Both men later died at an area hospital.

Smith was booked on two counts of homicide with special circumstances. He is scheduled for arraignment on March 21.
