SACRAMENTO —

Two men were arrested Thursday in connection to a June homicide on Rio Linda Boulevard, police said.

The Sacramento Police Department arrested Richard Gutierrez, 22, and Laurencio Quintero, 39, on suspicion of murder.

Back in June, 50-year-old Stacy Norman was hit and killed by gunfire while she was in her apartment on Rio Linda Boulevard near Eleanor Avenue.

Detectives later determined that Norman was not the intended target of the shooting.

Police say the motive behind the shooting isn’t clear, however, it appears to have stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two groups, unrelated to Norman.

During the investigation, Gutierrez and Quintero were identified as the primary suspects in the shooting.

Both suspects were arrested on July 9 for unrelated assault and weapons charges. They have remained in custody since then.

On Thursday, Gutierrez and Quintero were arrested on murder charges.

The Sacramento Police Department encourages any witnesses with information regarding this homicide to contact the dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or submit an anonymous tip using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app.  Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
