Authorities Looking for Cold Canyon Assault, Robbery Suspect

SOLANO COUNTY —

Police are on the lookout for a suspect after an armed assault and attempted robbery occurred in the Cold Canyon area of Lake Berryessa around 3 p.m. Friday.

Two women, ages 18 and 59, were hiking when they were approached by a male suspect. He displayed a handgun and forced them into a secluded area.

The man assaulted one of the women and demanded money before running away.

Authorities believe the man may be residing in the canyon area.

He is described as a young Hispanic male, approximately 25 years old and standing about 5 foot 6 inches.

The man had short black hair, no facial hair or a very light mustache and he spoke in broken English with a heavy accent.

He was last seen wearing a burgundy shirt, black pants with grey and white tennis shoes.
