Cal Fire Steps Up Staffing Ahead of Fire Season

Cal Fire has started its pre-season preparations, adding staff to help maintains its fleet of more than 50 aircraft.

"We put a lot of work into maintaining these planes and keeping them working," Cal Fire spokesperson Daniel Berlant said.

Many of the planes are kept at the McClellan airfield.

Despite the recent rains, Berlant says Cal Fire is bracing for another bad fire season.
