Woman Killed in Chain Reaction Crash Involving CHP Officer

A woman was killed late Monday night along Highway 16 and Latrobe Road in Sacramento County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving west on Highway 16 when she slowed to turn left onto Latrobe Road before getting rear-ended by a CHP officer.

That crash then sent the woman’s car into oncoming traffic, where she was struck again and killed.

Officers are investigating what caused the initial crash. Several people, including the officer, were taken to the hospital but they are expected to be OK.
