Scott was arrested Thursday afternoon in Fairfield after a long, multi-county chase. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail shortly after midnight Friday morning.

According to investigators, CHP motorcycle Officer Michael Ericson pulled onto the center median of westbound Interstate 80 near Elkhorn Boulevard to help what appeared to be a disabled pickup. The pickup then backed over Ericson and ran him over once more before speeding away.

The driver ditched the pickup on I-80 near Northgate Boulevard and stole a work truck that reportedly still had its keys inside, the CHP said.

According to jail logs, Scott was booked on felony charges of attempted murder, assault on a peace officer, purchase or receipt of a stolen vehicle, vehicle theft, driving under the influence causing injury and evading police in a reckless manner.
