Two Dead, Two Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash in West Sacramento

WEST SACRAMENTO —

Two people are dead and two others are injured after a multi-vehicle crash in West Sacramento on Monday evening.

Three vehicles were involved in a crash near Southport Parkway and Lake Washington Boulevard, West Sacramento police said.

West Sacramento police say the crash happened about 4:40 p.m.

Police said a brown Ford truck was headed eastbound on Southport Parkway when for an unknown reason it crossed into westbound lanes of traffic and hit a white SUV head on.

A silver Mazda was also involved in the crash.

The male driver, 37-year-old Lloyd Eugene Tinsley, of the brown Ford truck was transported to the hospital where he later died. A passenger in the truck was hurt. The extent of their injuries is not known.

The female driver of the white SUV died on impact, according to police.

The driver of the Mazda was hurt, the extend of the injuries are not known. A corgi dog riding in the Mazda was not injured.

Investigators are on scene. The cause of the crash is not known at this time.

Traffic is expected to be impacted for several hours.
