Around 10:21 a.m. Sac PD attempted to perform a traffic stop in the 5500 block of Mack Road when the vehicle continued to drive away.

The driver, 29-year-old Edward Robinson, headed westbound on Mack Road to southbound Center Parkway.

He then threw a gun out of the car window and continued driving. Afterwards, he stopped his car and proceeded to reverse into the patrol car behind him causing minor damage.

Robinson continued driving onto Loorz Court where he hit a parked car and fled on foot.

Authorities set up a perimeter at Loorz Court and Center Parkway while they detained a passenger in the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect was later located in a nearby residential backyard and was detained around 11 a.m.

Robinson was booked into the Sacramento Main County Jail on multiple charges including: resisting arrest, assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a concealable firearm.
