WEST SACRAMENTO — Big changes are on the way for West Sacramento.

They were announced at Thursday night’s West Sacramento City Council meeting.

Mayor Christopher Cabaldon says the West Sac firehouse will become a Burgers and Brew restaurant with a jazz club upstairs.

The city is also proposing a quarter-cent sales tax increase in November to be used for road repairs.

Plus, the mayor is asking the city council to endorse a plan for free college tuition and a grand slam program that will guarantee every high school student a paid internship.
