SACRAMENTO -- A fire in a vacant warehouse in the 300 block of Broadway is under investigation.

Fire crews believe the fire was started by squatters attempting to stay warm.

Just before 6 a.m., a witness said he saw the flames grow from a small camp-sized fire into a fully involved fire. The witness called the fire in as soon as he heard popping noises.

The building has been abandoned for several years.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
