Multiple Police Agencies on Manhunt for Attempted Murder Suspect

LOOMIS -- Police from several departments are involved in a manhunt for an attempted murder suspect in Loomis.

Officers responded around 2:50 p.m. to a domestic violence call at a home in the 500 block of Dudley Drive. According to authorities, the suspect, Gerardo Ramiro, 43, shot his 43-year-old wife and fled the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she had surgery for her injuries and is expected to be OK.

Ramiro fled to an associate's home on Horseshoe Bar Drive, where SWAT units for Roseville PD and Placer County Sheriffs, air units with CHP and State Park Rangers are surrounded. A large perimeter was set up at Horseshoe Bar and Val Verde Roads and Rancho Verde Lane. All residents in the area are advised to stay in doors.
