The nonprofit ReCreate turns unwanted materials into works of art. ReCreate's Executive Director, Donna Sangwin shows Mae and Bethany how to make a mandala. ReCreate works with businesses in the region allows them to divert clean, usable but unneeded items for use in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math)-focused, hands-on making, building and creating. Some projects are created in their Creative Reuse/Maker Studio, others are taken out into the community to spark curiosity and creativity.

This summer they will be hosting mini "maker" projects in Center Court at the Westfield Galleria in Roseville. Led by ReCreate staff, children and adults will have the chance to engage in an activity that challenges them to be better environmental stewards and rethink their notion of waste by making art from trash.
