CAMERON PARK — The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office says deputies have arrested a man they say set fire to the Sierra Oaks apartment complex in Cameron Park Sunday night.

Deputies say they arrived at the La Crescenta Drive complex around 10:30 p.m. to respond to a “verbal argument and possible arson fire.”

Witnesses reported seeing a man set fire to an air conditioning unit before it was extinguished by other residents.

Based on witness descriptions, investigators interviewed and ultimately arrested 54-year-old Michael Douglas Davis. He was booked into jail on arson-related charges.
