STOCKTON — A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning after a collision with a car in Stockton.

The accident happened before 9 a.m. on Quail Lakes Drive towards March Lane.

Police say the unidentified motorcyclist was speeding as a car was coming out of a shopping center parking lot nearby.

After the collision, the 35-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Stockton Police officer Joe Silva says the unidentified, 70-year-old driver of the car was not hurt.

“Obviously [he’s] shaken about what happened, but he stayed on [the] scene and cooperated with our investigators during this investigation,” Silva said.

After the accident, lanes opened back up around 10 a.m.
