Golden State Warriors forward was purportedly arrested for assault July 10 in East Lansing, Michigan, according to various reports.

The website MLive reported early Monday morning that Green was arrested, but that police would not confirm any details about the arrest. Police in East Lansing told MLive:

“The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name,” said Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth, the East Lansing police department Public Information Officer. “What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That’s all we’re confirming right now.”

Evan Sernoffsky, a writer for the San Francisco Chronicle confirmed the report, tweeting that police said Green was booked in jail last night.

The Warriors released a statement shortly after the reports saying they are gathering more information.

“We are aware of news involoving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”

Green, 26, is coming off his best statistical season of his four-year NBA career, averaging 14 ppg, 9.5 rpg, and 7.4 apg in 34.7 mpg.
