Paul sits down in the studio with magician Ryan Kane about his return to his hometown of Sacramento.

Kane kicks off the segment by performing a magic trick on Paul, erasing permanent marker drawings from the palm of his hand.

Kane grew up in Elk Grove before moving to San Francisco to study theater and pursue his career as a magician. In 2012, he won the title of "Best Magician in San Francisco" which he has yet to be dethroned from.

He says he learned magic from books and advocates that people learn that way. He wants to encourage kids that are pursuing magic to learn.

"The Magic of Ryan Kane" plays July 15 and 16 at The Green Valley Theater (3823 V St. Sacramento) beginning at 8 p.m. The show is appropriate for children 8 and older.
