MANTECA -- A Black Lives Matter March was winding its way through the center of Manteca this evening, starting at Woodward Park and stretching all the way to the Manteca Library.

Some driving by cat-called the marchers, while others offered them water on the long walk. Still, several of the marchers kept tape over their mouths -- with the names of African Americans killed in Police actions.

"With everything that's going on in the world, this is just to show that, even though Manteca's a small little place, we stand in solidarity with everybody," protester Sharon Washington told FOX40.

The march was permitted, and coordinated with the Manteca Police Department, whose officers kept a watchful eye.
