SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Fire Department helped a young boy with autism celebrate his fifth birthday!

Diagnosed with autism at an early age, Maddox has always wanted to be a firefighter.

On Tuesday, to celebrate his fifth birthday, his dream came true with the help of the Sacramento Fire Academy. Starting with a custom set of firefighter turnouts provided by his mother, his day just got better as he rode in a fire engine with lights and sirens, pulled the hose off the engine, and put out a “fire.”

Maddox celebrated by climbing to the top of the five-story drill tower and ringing the Baeta Bell.

Happy birthday, Maddox!
