Two Modesto Homes Damaged in Fire

MODESTO — A fire caused $90,000 worth of damage to two homes in Modesto early Sunday morning.

The fire started just before 7 a.m. at a home on Second Street near H Street. When firefighters arrived, a shed was fully involved. Flames also spread to the bedroom and attic of the main home.

The fire also extended to the exterior of a neighboring home.

Crews searched both homes. All occupants got out and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is not known.

Damage was estimated at $90,000 and the Red Cross was called in to assist the residents.
