CITRUS HEIGHTS — Two men have been arrested in connection to the December 2015 shooting death of 19-year-old Andrew Vanhunnik, police said.

In December 2015, Citrus Heights police officers responded to two separate shootings several days apart involving the same two suspects.

The Dec. 28 shooting happened on Kingwood Drive. Vanhunnik was fatally shot. Another man was hit by gunfire multiple times but survived his injuries.

RV Watson, 26, and Dashawn Tinsley were each arrested on one murder charge and three attempted murder charges.

Four days prior to the shooting, Watson and Tinsley, along with a third suspect, identified as 20-year-old Dennis Gibson, were allegedly involved in the attempted murder of a man in the Greenback Estates area of Citrus Heights. That victim was also hit multiple times by gunfire but survived his injuries.

Gibson faces one attempted murder charge.
