RIPON — A burglary suspect was arrested by Ripon police officers after a short foot pursuit on Monday.

Justin Alexander Ornellas, 23, of Manteca, was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of burglary, resisting arrest and on an outstanding warrant for resisting arrest, police said.

The chase happened Monday just after noon in front of the Ripona Market near West Washington Street and Key Avenue.

When Ornellas spotted officers he ran several blocks before giving up. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Ornellas was in possession of a stolen laptop that was taken from a home on Nancy Drive Monday morning.
