Officers Investigating Double Shooting in South Sacramento

SOUTH SACRAMENTO -- Authorities received a call around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday for shots fired in South Sacramento.

The caller said there were two victims with gunshot wounds located at a home in the 7300 block of Florinda Way.

Upon their arrival, they discovered two women with gunshot wounds. A 40-year-old was shot in the lower body and is in stable condition. A 38-year-old woman was shot in the upper body and is in critical condition with life threatening wounds.

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and heard a vehicle speed away from the area.

At this time there is no suspect, vehicle or motive information known at this time.

Detectives are asking anyone with information relating to this incident, to please contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.

About a block of Florinda Way is blocked off and will reopen after the investigation concludes.
