The North Natomas Transportation Management Association has created Walktober.  It is exactly what it sounds like, a month to promote walking to school.  Having kids walk to and from school not only cuts down on car pollution, but it also gets kids to be more active.  Another event the organization is hosting is 50 Bikes for 50 Kids.  This event matches volunteers with well-deserving kids to help assemble 50 new specialized bikes.  The event is currently recruiting volunteers and sponsors.
