SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Police Department says they have made about 20 arrests relating to robberies specifically targeting Asian communities.

Police said the suspects do not appear to be connected to each other, but they have resorted to the same tactics in victimizing citizens.

Police said the trend of armed criminals robbing members of the Asian community near their cars, outside their homes and in their houses began about four months ago.

Police said because of a combination of outreach and policing efforts, there has been a 43 percent drop in robberies in the targeted areas in the last month.
