Gas Leak in Citrus Heights Shuts Down Roadways, Prompts Evacuations

CITRUS HEIGHTS — A gas leak near Sunrise Boulevard and Arcadia Drive in Citrus Heights prompted evacuations on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say portions of a nearby shopping center is being evacuated because of the gas leak. The businesses affected by evacuations include Sprouts, CVS, Alley Katz and Starbucks.

Drivers are asked to avoid the Sunrise, Arcadia and Greenback area. Roadways are closed due to the gas leak.

PG&E and Metro Fire crews are on scene.
