SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Police Department is crediting a citizen for arresting herself Wednesday morning.

Cana Greer called the department requesting help after a mishap with an old pair of handcuffs.

The 29-year-old  was visiting her friend who used to be a security guard and accidentally locked herself in handcuffs without having a key to reopen the handcuffs.

Upon responding to the home, the officer conducted a records check and found the woman had a felony warrant for a burglary in El Dorado County.

Greer was thanked for arresting herself, was transported to a fire station to have the old cuffs removed and then ultimately landed in the Sacramento County Jail.
