LAKE SCHMIDELL — The pilot of a small plane that crashed last week in the Sierra was identified Friday.

According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, 52-year-old Tyrell Kremer, of Wilton, was piloting the plane. He was the only person on board.

The wreckage of the plane was discovered Tuesday near Lake Schmidell.

Authorities say the Cessna plane was flying from Idaho to the Sacramento area when contact was lost above the Sierra.
