Man Suspected of Shooting His Ex-Girlfriend in Antelope Found Dead

ANTELOPE — Sacramento County sheriff’s detectives have found the man suspected of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend Wednesday on Hartlepool Way in Antelope.

According to sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Tony Turnbull, a 28-year-old woman had just gotten out of her car in front of her home when she was shot in the head. A dark colored SUV was seen fleeing the scene, reports Turnbull.

The woman, later identified as 28-year-old Jessica Chavez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 6:15 p.m. Friday, on 43rd Street in Sacramento, authorities discovered whom they believed to be Gildardo Llamas Ramos, Chavez’s ex-boyfriend, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. As a suspect of the shooting. Ramos, 37, had been fleeing from authorities since Wednesday.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s office has yet to make the final confirmation regarding the identification of the body found in Sacramento.
