SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Police in Northern California say they have found human remains that may belong to a missing San Francisco man.

The San Francisco Police Department said Sunday its investigators, with the help of canine teams from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, found several bags containing the remains in a Hayward warehouse.

It says the warehouse is linked to Bob Tang, who is a person of interest in the disappearance of 48-year-old Piseth Chhay.

Chhay was last seen on May 14, when he told his wife he was going to meet with Tang.

Officials say Tang is believed to have fled the country to Cambodia and that the department is working with federal law enforcement partners to find him.

Police say Tang’s car was found in a parking lot at the airport on May 25, when it was towed to a police impound lot to be processed by investigators.
