Crews Battle Fire at Old General Mills Plant in Lodi

LODI — Fire crews battled a two-alarm fire at the old General Mills plant on Wednesday evening.

The fire broke out shortly before 6 p.m. in a truck trailer parked at a loading dock at the old plant.

Neighbors heard a loud explosion before flames were spotted.

Crews with Stockton Fire werecalled out to assist in the firefight. The fire was contained to the trailer, and crews were able to quickly put it out.

The facility, located on Turner Road and Mills Avenue, closed in November 2015.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
