Man Stabbed to Death During Argument in South Sacramento; Person of Interest in Custody

SOUTH SACRAMENTO — A man is dead following a stabbing on Vallecitos Way near Sun River Drive in Sacramento, according to police.

The stabbing happened Monday afternoon after an argument between two men turned physical, police said. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 60s laying in the roadway. He was declared dead at the scene.

Within minutes of officers arriving at the stabbing scene, a man in his 20s arrived at a local hospital with injuries related to the incident. Officers headed to the hospital and detained him without incident.

The relationship between the two men is not known at this time.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Vallecitos Way will be shut down in the area as detectives and crime scene investigators process the scene.
