STOCKTON -- The third annual Misty Holt Singh Memorial Golf Tournament raised thousands of dollars for victims of violent crime.

Holt Singh was killed in July 2014 after she was taken hostage by heavily armed bank robbers. Investigators say she was used as a human shield during a gun battle with police.

This year's tournament raised thousands more than last year's $12,000 total.

Proceeds go to Victims of Violent Crimes, an organization that assists victims and families with anything they need after a tragedy.
