SACRAMENTO -- Over the past year, the local area has seen a rise in several pharmacy robberies by multiple suspects.

Investigators say that the robberies typically consist of the multiple suspects entering pharmacy stores during business hours and demanding drugs from employees.

In many cases, the suspects have been known to flee the scene in a waiting getaway car. Detailed descriptions of the suspects have not been provided. Police said the suspects have also been seen wearing gloves and carrying reusable grocery bags.

Although many of the descriptions of the vehicles and suspects have been similar, authorities do not believe all the robberies to have been committed by the same group.

In response to these incidents, the Sacramento Police Department will be deploying law enforcement officials into the affected communities. The officers will be focusing on robbery prevention and crime suppression in these areas in an attempt to address the issue.

The Sacramento PD are requesting the community's assistance in identifying the suspects of the pharmacy robberies. If you have any information, contact the Sacramento Police Department dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP.
