Union Mine Cancels Football Game, Citing Safety Concerns

EL DORADO — Union Mine and Douglas high schools have canceled their Friday night football game against each other, citing safety concerns.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office says there was a planned protest over a recent arrest at Union Mine, and that included rumors of threats of violence toward the school.

Investigators say there is no evidence of any credible threats.
