Crossing Guard Teaches Young Students that ‘Pedestrians Don’t Have Armor’

SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento crossing guard Pete Walker wore his suit of car armor to Two Rivers Elementary School Wednesday morning to remind the kids there that they are not protected when they cross the street.

The "Pedestrians Don't Have Armor" campaign runs all month throughout the state of California.

In 2016 alone nearly 6,000 pedestrians died in traffic crashes across the United States.
