Thieves Appear to Abandon Plan to Steal Elk Grove ATM

ELK GROVE — Police in Elk Grove say thieves appeared to have abandoned their plan to steal an ATM early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the SAFE Credit Union Branch on Bruceville Road around 4 a.m., where they found part of the machine ripped from its housing and left in the drive-thru lane.

The ATM had ropes attached to it.

Police did not have any suspect information Tuesday afternoon.
