Update: National Weather Service meteorologists confirmed Sunday that multiple gustnadoes and a tornado developed in Yolo County Saturday night.
Ahead of Saturday’s storm, gustnadoes were seen near westbound Interstate 80 and Highway 113 between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. According to AccuWeather, a gustnado is a brief weather event that is considered a “swirling wind.” It is not a tornado and does not develop like a tornado.
At 6:41 p.m., a tornado touched down east of County Road 101A and County Road 29.
No serious damage in those areas has been reported, according to the NWS.
SACRAMENTO — The National Weather Service Sacramento issued a tornado warning Saturday evening.
The warning is for Davis and West Sacramento.
NWS Sacramento advises people in the area to take shelter.
The warning is set to expire at 7 p.m.
