Adam Epstein has been the morning meteorologist at KTXL since October 2018. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (Seal #797) as designated by the American Meteorological Society. You can catch his forecasts Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Adam strives to not only tell you whether or not it will rain, but explain the meteorology behind the forecast. He hopes you learn something new every day.
Prior to his arrival in Sacramento, he worked as a meteorologist for WGME in Portland, Maine. Adam specialized in covering weather in the field, such as floods and blizzards. He also reported on outdoor events, and produced environmental packages.
Adam earned his degree in Atmospheric Sciences & Meteorology from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. During his junior and senior years, he filled in for WENY-TV News in Elmira, while also working for the student-run news program, Newswatch 16, at Ithaca College. Upon graduation, Adam worked in New York as a News 12 Networks meteorologist. He is from Port Washington, NY.
Athletics have always been an integral part of Adam’s life. He captained the Cornell University Men’s Club Volleyball team his senior year and still enjoys playing competitively.
Thunderstorms and blizzards initially sparked Adam’s interest in weather. Since elementary school, he aspired towards a career in broadcast meteorology.
When he’s not working on the forecast in the studio, your best bet is to find Adam exploring the grid, hiking on a trail, or playing in grass/sand volleyball tournaments around Northern California.
