  • Vallejo Mother’s Arson, Suicide Results in the Death of Two Daughters

    VALLEJO — The Vallejo Police Department has determined that a mother’s suicide and arson resulted in the death of two of her daughters and the injury of another. On August 5, officers were flagged down by an 11-year-old girl who told officers there were three others inside the 2932 Georgia Street home.   • Cal Fire: Firefighter Assigned to Carr Fire Killed in Traffic Accident in Tehama County

    TEHAMA COUNTY — Cal Fire has announced that a firefighter assigned to the Carr Fire was killed in a traffic accident Thursday morning.     SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK — A 22-year-old man is dead after he tried to save a 5-year-old boy who fell into the river while visiting Sequoia National Park with his family Saturday.   • Drunk Driver Caught Peeing Outside Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department

    STANISLAUS COUNTY — Authorities in Stanislaus County arrested a woman under bizarre circumstances early Wednesday morning. The sheriff’s department says the woman was so drunk and lost, she pulled over to pee outside. But, unbeknownst to her, she was peeing at the main entrance of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department parking lot. She was detained by deputies who witnessed the incident. The woman was evaluated and arrested for DUI.
