Growing up in Tucson, AZ, I got the chance to anchor the elementary school news show. Even then you could recognize my passion for creatively & enthusiastically telling a story. I still get excited when I can find a new way to tell a story that might make a difference for a viewer and relish the opportunity I get to find it. Despite my current, obscenely early wake up call– I pinch myself some mornings– realizing, I’m living one of my dreams– and doing so with co-workers I admire, respect & genuinely care for- I feel blessed.

I’m known around the newsroom for…

Around the newsroom, people know me for my positive, bubbly & often hyper personality, for a desk that is generally a disaster zone and always being within arms’ reach of caffeine.

What keeps me going

Stress & exhaustion come with the job– I cope by traveling on the weekends (Napa, SF, Tahoe) and forcing myself to hit the gym or yoga after the morning show. I’m always, always happier when I’m in a workout routine.

I give back to my community by…

I love living in our area and getting to explore. For me– everything has potential to be great live TV. I’m perpetually on the hunt for new businesses to highlight, unique stories to tell and cool people to showcase. l see storytelling as a service for both the subject of my story and the viewer who comes along for the ride while learning more.

Why FOX40?

I joined FOX40 in August 2007 and in the last 5 years I’ve had the great fortune to try lots of hats. While anchoring FOX40 in the morning is a great fit and fun new challenge– some of my best TV moments come from my interactive feature reports, workout Wednesday segments– and my On The Move reports as a roving reporter.

My greatest TV moment

FOX40’s Add One Job campaign reminds me why TV is still relevant— watching it continue to help put unemployed viewers back to work is truly awesome. I think some people in TV forget– this is a service based industry.

TV moment I’d like to forget

Being live on-air is second nature after all these years– but there was a time when I shook so hard I couldn’t hold my notes. My first on-air gig had me reporting/anchoring in Rapid City, SD — some of my most (unintentionally) humiliating and hilarious live shots come from that time in my life — hopefully they’re lost in TV land forever. I can’t honestly remember the subject of my first live shot- I do recall I failed big time, but I never stopped trying to improve.

If I had free time, I would…

If I had free time, (Ha!! ) I would get certified in scuba diving & Bikram yoga, learn to play tennis and travel more. Australia, Japan & India are on my current short list.
