    SACRAMENTO — A recent high school graduate died Sunday after crashing into a center median on Interstate 5 in Sacramento. Just after 1 a.m., a black Volkswagen struck the center median along northbound I-5 just north of Florin Road, according to the CHP.   • Districts Accepting School Supply Donations for Butte County Students

    SACRAMENTO — School districts across Sacramento County are banding together to help Camp Fire victims. The county office of education and the school districts are collecting new classroom supplies for teachers in Butte County. The drive is happening all week through Friday. Several schools were destroyed or damaged in and around Paradise when the Camp Fire quickly roared through that area.   • Burglars Use Van to Smash Window of Dixon Sporting Goods Store

    DIXON — Burglars struck a Dixon sporting goods store early Monday morning, leaving with thousands of dollars in merchandise. Surveillance video from Pacific Flyway Supplies shows a 15-passenger van back into the large front window, and two people run inside. The smash and grab burglary happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday. The shop owner says the two thieves were inside for just about 90 seconds before leaving with an estimated $10,000 in hunting apparel. Dixon Police are investigating the theft.

  • VIDEO: FOX40 Teamed Up With the Salvation Army to Raise Over $300,000 for Camp Fire Victims

    SACRAMENTO — FOX40 and the Salvation Army raised money through a telethon on Nov. 15 to help victims of the Camp Fire. Together, with plenty of caring people, the team raised $316,000 through the all-day telethon. FOX40’s parent company, Tribune Media, also donated $20,000 on Dec. 7 to the Salvation Army; altogether, $336,000 went  to victims of the Camp Fire.  

  • Man Arrested in Connection to Series of Armed Robberies in Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Police Department has arrested a suspect connected to a series of armed robberies in the north area of Sacramento. Around 8:30 p.m. Friday, authorities were called for an armed robbery at a business near 3600 Northgate Boulevard. While searching the area, police located and arrested Keyzshawn Braxton near 4000 Taylor Street. Braxton was in possession  of the gun used in the robbery.
