STOCKTON — Thirteen ducklings were rescued from a Stockton storm drain Monday. Stockton police and Animal Services officers were called to Amarillo Way and Waterbury Drive around noon after a mother duck was seen pacing back and forth in the area, according to Joe Silva with the Stockton Police Department. SACRAMENTO — Sacramento is planning to open its first homeless shelter for LGBTQ youth. The shelter will be located at an existing home at 21st and P streets, in Midtown. The city-run shelter was proposed by Councilman Jay Schenirer back in March. Pixie Pearl, the assistant director of housing at the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, sat down in the studio to talk about the new shelter.

FOLSOM — The search for a man missing in Folsom Lake continued Monday. SOUTH SACRAMENTO — Homicide detectives launched an investigation Sunday after a man was found dead in a South Sacramento home. Around 2 p.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received a call after someone went to a family member’s home on Peevey Court and found a dead relative inside. DAVIS — The City of Davis Fire Department is assisting West Plainfield Fire with a plane crash. Crews are responding to an area near County Road 95 and County Road 31, about 1.3 miles south from the Yolo County Airport.3 Authorities with West Plainfielf Fire said the plane involved is a single-seater experimental plane. VACAVILLE — Two men have been arrested by the Vacaville Police Department following a deadly domestic dispute incident early Saturday. Authorities responded to a home near Arlington Park on Peregrine Way around 2:30 a.m. and found a deceased woman. Marcus Smith, 42, was arrested for homicide. TURLOCK — A substitute teacher in Stanislaus County has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography. The Turlock Police Department said Friday that 48-year-old Damon Witt was arrested after detectives served a search warrant at a home on West Tuolumne Road and seized several electronic devices investigators say belonged to Witt. Those devices had child pornography on them, according to police. Investigators say the images have been circulating online for some time and Witt wasn’t involved in their creation. […]
