  • Driver Flees after Van Crashes into Natomas Starbucks

    NATOMAS — Police in Sacramento are investigating a van that crashed into a Starbucks early Monday morning in Natomas. Around 3 a.m., officers responded to the shop on Arena Boulevard after an alarm activation. The van appears to have backed into the Starbucks, destroying the front window. No one was in the shop at the time and no injuries were reported.

  • Deadly Crash Blocks Lane of I-5 South of Twin Cities Road

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY — A deadly crash involving a big rig has blocked a lane of southbound Interstate 5 south of Twin Cities Road. The CHP reported the crash shortly after noon on Thursday. It was not immediately known what caused the truck to crash. Traffic in the area was backed up for miles, almost to Hood Franklin Road, officers said. Drivers were told to plan alternate routes.

    VACAVILLE — A woman found dead in a Vacaville field nearly 30 years ago has finally been identified, police said Monday. Photographs from 1991 show investigators huddled in a field of wildflowers in Vacaville. A 38-year-old woman was found dead on Nut Tree Road as crews were building the Premium Outlets.     LATHROP — Police in Lathrop say a suspected drank an entire six-pack of beer inside a Target dressing room.
