    Measles Case Confirmed in Calaveras County

    CALAVERAS COUNTY — An unvaccinated Calaveras County child who recently traveled overseas was diagnosed with measles. Calaveras Public Health Officer Dr. Dean Kelaita announced the measles case Thursday. Kelaita reports the child is from Valley Springs and had contact with several people in Calaveras and Amador counties prior to the diagnosis. “We have seen a decrease in the number of children protected with vaccinations in Calaveras,” Dr. Kelaita said.     SACRAMENTO — Sacramento and Elk Grove police released a photograph of a man they believe is tied to at least 10 separate indecent exposure incidents. Investigators say he has exposed himself at least five times within Sacramento, with the most recent incident occurring Tuesday morning in a residential area of Craig Avenue and 23rd Street.   • Two Marysville Teens Arrested in Killing of Elderly Idaho Woman

    YUBA COUNTY — Two Marysville teenagers were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of killing an Idaho woman in her home. Just before midnight, Yuba County Sheriff’s deputies searching for the suspects’ vehicle spotted it in Olivehurst. They were able to stop the vehicle on 8th and Olivehurst avenues and arrest the suspects, according to the sheriff’s department.     SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY — The San Joaquin County District Attorney announced Thursday that a Stanislaus County deputy facing a voluntary manslaughter charge has been ordered to stand trial. On Feb. 26, 2017, Deputy Justin Wall is suspected of fatally shooting 46-year-old Evin Olsen during a police chase that ended in Ripon. He was the only officer to fire at Olsen and did so four times.   • Police: Rio Calaveras Elementary Student Stabs Classmate

    STOCKTON — Police report an elementary school student stabbed a classmate Wednesday in Stockton. A 13-year-old boy at Rio Calaveras Elementary School stabbed a 14-year-old girl around 1:20 p.m., according to Stockton Police Public Information Officer Joe Silva. The girl was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries and the boy was brought into custody. It is unknown what led up to the stabbing.

    SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento City Unified School District and city of Sacramento will pay a combined $12.5 million to settle a case involving a former school employee. Joshua Vasquez worked for a city after-school program at Mark Twain Elementary School. During his time there he committed lewd acts upon six children ranging in age from 7 to 13 years old.     SACRAMENTO — A drunken driver went through multiple South Sacramento backyards and crashed into two homes Monday morning. Just before 5 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department reports Jeremy Jaramillo was driving west on Meadowview Road when his car left the roadway. The 28-year-old drove through four backyards before hitting two homes on Carrotwood Court. Officers found him in the neighborhood and he was later hospitalized. His condition is unknown.     SACRAMENTO — Between September 2018 and January 2019, numerous citations linked to homeless activities were issued by Sacramento County park rangers.
