Virtual Black History Month experience through Microsoft’s Legacy Project

Black History Month

There’s a new way for young people to explore and learn about Black history.

Richard spoke to Shy Averett, the creator of Legacy Project, about Microsoft’s virtual Black History Month experience for students.

These museums are amazing, but I want students to also understand you can make history now. I think that’s the beautiful thing. When you get to the end of the museum, there’s a question mark and there’s an empty photo and we ask individuals, “What is your legacy?” … I don’t want students to walk away and think Black history is something of the past. It’s alive and well and is being made every day.
